I am a 49 year old going through menopause and experiencing anxiety. I had a partial hysterectomy 10 years ago and I’ve not been myself, when the symptoms started around this time last year. I didn’t know what it was and wasn’t educated at all about menopause, the doctors put me on anti D. I couldn’t understand why this was all happening as I had never had any issues with mental health in the past, so I did some studying myself and decided to go and see a hormone specialist and started on HRT. I still didn’t feel quite right so changed my doctor recently and started on a new HRT so hopefully this will make a difference.
I’ve watched the three-part video with Dr Peers and it was the most educating, easy to understand, full of information video! I really thank you for sharing that as it does answer a lot of my whys!
The bit about the collagen was very interesting as I have a disc bulge, which started to affect me from a couple of years ago all of a sudden. When Dr Peers explained that your spine has 20% of collagen and if you’re not producing oestrogen, the collagen is not going to be produced, which means your disc will start to degenerate and it all started to make sense. That’s probably why there are more back issues with women more than men! No-one has explained that to me after seeing so many back specialists - all they say is you’re getting old, but I am only 49! I exercise and not overweight!
I just wanted to say that I am so grateful that you are doing this. It does help us women going through this difficult time of our lives. I have read your book and have forwarded the video to my friends and my sister! Keep up the good work
